Everyone has a story to tell – I’m the curious type of person who likes to investigate a potential story, be a bit audacious when asking questions, and then let others in on what I’ve learned through a published interview.  People are very inspiring if we take the time to really listen to their stories.  I listen.

Mystery novel writer Lyn Miller LaCoursiere

Time and again I either hear this being said, or I read it in someone’s article or on a blog:  ”I’m planning to write a novel (or a cookbook, devotional, or whatever that person desires to share with the world).”  Lyn Miller LaCoursiere had her first “I’m gonna write a novel” written and stored away in the back of her closet for years – something prompted her to resume writing, rescue that first draft of a manuscript for a novel from her closet, and eventually take the necessary steps to publish a series of mystery novels.

It takes some courage mixed in with a dash of daring-do to accomplish that – I discovered while interviewing Lyn that she possesses both of these characteristics.  She also has found a way to create characters in her series of mystery novels that become quite real to the reader, much as they have become real in the mind of this author herself. Trumpet/Flugelhorn Artist Jeff Carver

Jeff Carver plays his trumpet and flugelhorn in the Twin Cities area.  Sure, there are a lot of musicians out there doing the very same thing, but something about this particular horn player intrigued me enough to seek out an interview with him.

I heard Jeff Carver play his trumpet and flugelhorn many years ago when he was working with high school students.  I thought at that time that he was a good horn player and teacher and I appreciated seeing that.  However, one thing jumped out at me as being particularly special about the man himself – he seemed to have a real knack for motivating the students to enjoy what they were doing and to excel in their playing.
