Maroon 5 is an American band from Los Angeles, California.  The group originally formed in 1994 as Kara’s Flowers while they were still attending high school.  Members of the band are Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, James Valentine and Matt Flynn – their music spans such genres as pop rock, funk rock, neo soul, alternative rock and pop.

This past summer marked the debut of Maroon 5’s highly anticipated fourth studio album, “Overexposed.” Recorded in Los Angeles, CA, the release is a rich, pop-infused collection that “Rolling Stone” referred to as “their best yet,” and “People Magazine” called “sweet soul kissed pop.” The release of the album quickly reinforced the group’s status as a powerhouse in popular music. “Overexposed” features a series of chart-topping singles including “Payphone” and “One More Night.”

Capturing their first of three Grammy Awards as “Best New Artist” of 2005 and going on to sell more than 17 million albums worldwide, Maroon 5’s releases have gone gold and platinum in over 35 countries. The band won over fans and critics alike with the hybrid rock/R&B sound they introduced on their debut album, “Songs About Jane,” and their double platinum album, “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long,” which included hits like “Makes Me Wonder” and “If I Never See Your Face Again.” In 2010, the band released their third studio album, “Hands All Over,” which also recently went platinum. The collection featured two hit singles including the Hot AC smash “Misery” and the anthemic “Moves Like Jagger,” which climbed to the No. 1 spot on the Top 40 and Hot AC charts and also claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

In addition to his work with Maroon 5, Adam Levine has returned for a third season as a coach on the No. 1 NBC hit series “The Voice.” Adam also recently made his small screen acting debut on the hit FX Drama “American Horror Story” and has landed a lead role in the major motion picture film “Can A Song Save Your Life” from director John Carney.
