“Joyful Flutes” will provide Mall of America guests with the opportunity to experience the fun of hearing a “flash mob” perform in a live, unrehearsed, and no doubt very joyful manner!
Special events on the Mall of America® schedule in Bloomington, Minnesota for the week of February 25, 2013 include:
- Toddler Tuesdays: Morning Movie Showcase;
- Ski Jumping – Nordic Combined Junior National Championships Opening Ceremony;

Tuesday, February 26
1) Toddler Tuesdays: Morning Movie Showcase
Theatres at Mall of America® will host Toddler Tuesday® guests for a special screening of “Madagascar 3.” All guests will receive free popcorn. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. and the movie will begin at 10:15 a.m. (10 a.m. – Noon; Theatres at Mall of America)
2) Ski Jumping – Nordic Combined Junior National Championships Opening Ceremony
The Junior National Ski Championships and KARE 11 Meteorologist Sven Sungaard will welcome the 2013 Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined athletes in the opening ceremony for this year’s competition. The ceremony will include remarks from several dignitaries and a motivational welcome from 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist of the American National Softball team, Danielle Tyler. (4 – 6 p.m.; Rotunda)
Saturday, March 2
1) Juvenile Arthritis March
Hundreds will gather at Mall of America for the Juvenile Arthritis March, an event to raise funds and create awareness to fight juvenile arthritis. The event will include entertainment, a health fair and a presentation of scholarships to Camp M.A.S.H. Guests can register at http://www.jam2013.kintera.org/ or call 651-229-5371. 2) Joyful Flutes
The Upper Midwest Flute Association will host a spontaneous flute performance of “Ode to Joy.” Over 100 flute players, of all experience levels, will come together to perform the classic piece. Featured soloist, Allison McQuerry, from the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra will begin the piece. (6:30 p.m.; Rotunda)
