Mystery novel writer Lyn Miller LaCoursiere

More than a year ago I conducted an interview with Minnesota mystery writer Lyn Miller LaCoursiere, and promised at that time to keep readers updated on her happenings and events.

Much has been taking place for Lyn since that interview, including

  • a fifth book published;
  • a sixth book soon to be released;
  • a new novel in the works with all new characters;
  • her books published as eBook and Kindle Editions, and
  • a recent interview published in the Maple Grove Magazine.

It is never too early to begin reading to children!

Little library?  Not any longer!

Little Free Library™, an upper Midwest nonprofit with an international network of little structures and libraries filled with free books, will celebrate a milestone on August 17, 2012 at Mall of America® in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Little Free Library will become the largest library network in the world,  exceeding the number of public libraries funded by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie more than a century ago.

Events will be held in the MOA Rotunda from Noon – 3 p.m.

Celebrity book reading will take place from 1 – 2 p.m.

Mark Rosen will sign copies of his new book on June 16, 2012 at the MOA.

Anyone who follows sports and resides in Minnesota has more than likely encountered some sports coverage by Mark Rosen.  Rosen is WCCO-TV’s sports director, anchor and reporter who has been with that television station since he was a high school junior at St. Louis Park.

Mark Rosen is also the author of Best Seat In The House.  He will be making an appearance at Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota alongside co-author Jim Bruton on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in Sears Court to greet fans and sign copies of his book.

Andy Cohen of Bravo TV has some interesting stories to share in his new memoir.

Being talkative can have its rewards.  At least it has worked out that way for Andy Cohen of Bravo TV, who was voted “most talkative” by his high school classmates.

These days Cohen really has something to talk about.  And to write about, which he has done.

Andy Cohen’s new memoir has just been published.  Cohen will visit Mall of America to sign copies of his book, “MOST TALKATIVE: Stories from the Front Lines of Pop Culture” on Monday, June 11 at 6 p.m. in the Rotunda. He will also give a brief introduction about his book prior to signing autographs.

On stage at The Southern Theater from January 26 – February 12, 2012.

The musical tale of a nasty dragon is coming to the stage just in time to help celebrate the Year of the Dragon.   In collaboration with the Minnesota Boychoir, Puppet Farm Arts, and Circus Juventas, TigerLion Arts will present the world premiere of The Dragons Are Singing Tonight, the musical tale of a nasty dragon at the Southern Theater in Minneapolis.   The production will run from January 26 – February 12, 2012.

Premiering just after the Chinese New Year in January, 2012, The Dragons Are Singing Tonight… is a new musical based on the well-loved book of dragon poems by United States Children’s Poet Laureate Jack Prelutsky.

Sunday has been a perfect day for me to spend time browsing through Sunday Roasts: A Year’s Worth of Mouthwatering Roasts, from Old-Fashioned Pot Roasts to Glorious Turkeys, and Legs of Lamb - a cookbook that has this wording on its back cover:  “Preparing a roast on Sunday afternoon is a wonderful use of time.  Your home is filled with the tantalizing fragrance of juicy, roasting meat.  It’s a beautiful meal for the family to gather to enjoy.  And the leftovers provide irresistible sandwiches throughout the week!

I’m hooked – tantalizing fragrance of juicy, roasting meat – yum!  I’m also hooked on specialty cookbooks as I have found the authors of such books to be especially passionate about their topic and well-versed in how to prepare their favorite foods.
