Under floor heating is an option in many styles of modern housing.

My townhome has both under floor electric radiant heating and a natural gas furnace. When I purchased my home about 4 years ago I had not learned about the Time of Day plan by Xcel Energy. My first electric bill when I used electric heat exclusively during the month of December was over $400.00, which exceeded my budget allocation. In addition, I had a natural gas bill for about $25.00 for my water heater, etc.

Check out the Hennepin County media recycling program when you are ready to dispose of unwanted media items.

Hennepin County is now accepting a wide variety of electronic media items (video, audio and computer) at its drop-off facilities in Bloomington and Brooklyn Park.  Items are accepted as recycling, from households only, and with no fee.

Proof of residency is required (MN drivers license or current utility bill).

The following items are accepted for recycling. You are asked to please remove paper boxes, inserts and sleeves and place in your paper recycling. Cracked and broken items are accepted.

I purchased my Reynolds® Handi-Vac™ vacuum sealer a couple of years ago, but did not use it very much for a number of reasons.  Today I simply pitched the sealer into the garbage after coming to terms with the fact that it just wasn’t working well for me.

1) My main complaint about the Reynolds® Handi-Vac™ Vacuum Sealer is the cost related to battery replacement and the special freezer bags.  The six AA batteries did not last very long whenever I replaced them – certainly not for the 100 bag evacuations that Reynolds® suggests is typical.  They do qualify that number by saying that it can vary based on bag contents and usage patterns, so perhaps I did not use the sealer properly when I used it to seal a bag.
