15 colorful pianos coming to St. Paul outdoor spaces

Something new to watch for in St. Paul outdoor public spaces!  Over the course of two days, 15 artist/student teams will transform old and worn pianos into 15 colorful and fascinating works of art in front of crowds at Mall of America® in Bloomington, Minnesota. Keys 4/4 Kids, a local nonprofit that accepts and sells donated pianos for charity, is teaming up with St. Paul Mayor’s office and MOA™ to provide guests and spectators an exciting musical and artistic experience.

The Mall of America supplied these images of colorful pianos that have been transformed in the past.

This event will take place at MOA™ on Saturday, May 18 from 9:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m., and on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.  Activities will be held in the Sears Court and the Rotunda.

‘Komen® Race for the Cure®’ to be held at the MOA®

More than 50,000 guests are expected to attend the 21st annual Susan G. Komen® Twin Cities Race for the Cure® at Mall of America® on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12, 2013. Beginning at 7 a.m., family and friends dressed head-to-toe in pink will come together for the Walk with one goal: Battle the fight against breast cancer.  

Options for supporting this event include run, walk, shop or even sleep in!

The morning will kick off with a health expo, refreshments and an aerobic warm-up for participants at 7 a.m. in the parking lot at 24th avenue and Lindau Lane. The 5K co-ed wheelchair race will begin at 7:25 a.m. followed by the 5K co-ed run at 7:30 a.m.

“Camp Ice Age” opens at the Mall of America on May 10, 2013, with tickets available for purchase on that date.

Fans of the blockbuster film franchise, “Ice Age,” will soon have the opportunity to embark on a fun-filled adventure into the prehistoric world of their favorite characters through “Camp Ice Age,” which will open at Mall of America® in Bloomington, Minnesota on May 10, 2013.

In partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products, Global Experience Specialists, Inc. (GES) created the 10,000-square-foot touring experience.
