More than 50,000 guests are expected to attend the 21st annual Susan G. Komen® Twin Cities Race for the Cure® at Mall of America® on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12, 2013. Beginning at 7 a.m., family and friends dressed head-to-toe in pink will come together for the Walk with one goal: Battle the fight against breast cancer.  

Options for supporting this event include run, walk, shop or even sleep in!

The morning will kick off with a health expo, refreshments and an aerobic warm-up for participants at 7 a.m. in the parking lot at 24th avenue and Lindau Lane. The 5K co-ed wheelchair race will begin at 7:25 a.m. followed by the 5K co-ed run at 7:30 a.m.

Step to It 1 copyIf you need some motivation to get moving again after too much sitting during the recent winter, the “Step To It Challenge” program might be just the ticket for you.  Registration begins on April 1st – steps will be recorded from May 1 – 28, 2013.

The Minnesota Twins and Kare 11 are joining Hennepin County and participating communities as proud sponsors of the 2013 Step To It Challenge. Winning participants from each community will be recognized during a Twins game this summer.

The Harlem Globetrotters will introduce a whole new level of fun and excitement to their fans when their 2013 “You Write the Rules” World Tour takes place at the Target Center in downtown Minneapolis.  The event will take place on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.

Entertainment is the name of the game! Here two Harlem Globetrotters pretend to douse a group of fans with a bucket of water during the Original Harlem Globetrotters versus Global Select world championship game in 2011.

A Magic Pass for a 30-minute unique pre-show is also available for purchase.  At this event, your family will actually get to spend time on the court with the Globetrotters – shooting, trying out ball tricks, autographs and photos.  Space is limited, so act early to obtain tickets.
