A variety of cruises are available along the scenic Mississippi River in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Combine autumn colors along the Mississippi River with polka music and German foods, and you have the enjoyable atmosphere surrounding the Oktoberfest lunch cruises that depart from Harriet Island in St. Paul on Saturdays in October.  The cruises take place from 11am – 3pm.

Como Park Conservatory, March 26, 2007

A great benefit for Como Park Zoo visitors begins today, April 30, 2011. Visitors can avoid parking hassles with the Como Park Zoo free shuttle service! Shuttle service begins weekends April 30 – September 25 (with the exception of June 17-19 & July 2-4, when there will be no service), and daily service begins June 4 – August 7.

The shuttle bus allows passengers to board at the staffed off-site parking lot at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds, located on the south side of Como Avenue across from the State Fair’s Warner Coliseum (see website for exceptions) and within minutes of the front doors of the Visitor Center. The shuttle runs continuously 9:30 am – 6:30 pm. The busses are wheelchair and stroller accessible.

The Living Green Expo is a two-day weekend affair scheduled for May 7-8, 2011 on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds,  a new venue providing greater accessibility for all. A combination of more than 300 exhibitors, workshops, and demos will showcase the latest in green and sustainable living within the 4-H, Education, Fine Arts, and Progress Center buildings.

The event is open to the public with a suggested donation of $2 per person.  The first 200 visitors each day will receive a free Chinook Book, providing savings of up to $3000!
